I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, and her flaming self respect. And it's these things I'd believe in, even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn't all she should be. I love her and it is the beginning of everything.

art deco vauxhall glass necklace
An early twentieth century necklace, comprised of graduated geometric, glass stones backed with silver foil, referred to as Art Deco Vauxhall glass or mirror glass, set in silver, with concentric circle decoration to the reverse, length 15 in, with additional 2 in festoon drop, 79 grams, circa 1925.
Not to be confused with Vauxhall glass jewelry of the early nineteenth century, originally sold as souvenirs to the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in London and produced nearby, Art Deco Vauxhall jewelry was produced largely in Bohemia during the early twentieth century. Art Deco Vauxhall jewelry can be found in countless varieties and colors and often features heavily geometric designs typical of the prevailing aesthetic of the 1920s. Transparent glass was set closed-back, usually in silver or brass, and was lined with reflective foil, thus giving rise to the name 'mirror glass.'
